We are so thrilled to announce our founder, Carrisa Jones as one of the proud recipients of Slalom’s first ever, Global Humanity First Award.
The Humanity First Award celebrates an employee who has made a significant contribution in the Inclusion, Diversity & Equity space, whether it be internally or externally within the community at large. This award is received by nomination and a majority of votes by a panel from around the Globe.
Here are a few highlights from Carrisa’s nominations:
Nomination Highlight 1:
I’m convinced Carrisa is secretly a superhero. I can’t think of a more genuine, giving person who does good for nothing more than it being the right thing. Her ‘why’ is firmly rooted in the sincere desire to help people, and from the moment she joined Slalom she’s been a champion for ID&E. The largest example of this is her work with “Every Girl Shines” – her nonprofit focused on empowering young women of color through mentorship. In the wake of BLM and Slalom’s commitment to helping with inequity, she seized the opportunity to introduce and expand her impact by getting Slalom involved.
Nomination Highlight 2:
Carrisa’s passion for philanthropy and empowering young women through her non-profit organization Every Girl Shines is undoubtedly the most humanity-first thing anyone in our organization could be doing right now. Above all else: during two (COVID-19 & Racial Injustice) Global Pandemics. Carrisa’s care and focus on her community by creating a place for community with those around her, has a profound impact on the individuals she touches. It is my belief by observation that Carrisa truly loves her life and her work, because she
puts love into everything she does. Love, Laughter and Kindness. There is no greater gift in this world than these three things.
