April Michelle Wilson was born on May 15th, in Palatka, FL. She resided in San Mateo, FL until relocating to Daytona Beach, FL in 1999 after marrying her high school sweetheart, Dr. Chester Wilson. To this great union, they are blessed with two beautiful children, Caleb and Cayla.
April’s educational pursuits and achievements include her current enrollment in Capella University earning a Doctor of Business (DBA) degree. She has earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Transformative Leadership from Bethune-Cookman University, a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University, and an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Human Services from Daytona Beach Community College.
April also holds professional certifications, which include being a Certified HIV & AIDS educator and tester, Certified FDIC Money Smart Trainer, Certified Tax Professional and a Certified QuickBooks professional. She has also completed additional training in areas such as finance, life skills, leadership and meditech. April’s professional experience includes 10 years in the medical field as a Registrar, Bed Control Coordinator, Reservation Specialist, Reimbursement Analyst and a Financial Accounting Clerk. April has also worked in the professional capacity of Accounting and Finance for the City of Ormond Beach, NASCAR, TopBuild, and Gatehouse Media.
April also serves in the position of Church Secretary within her local church where she has been a member since 1999. April has participated in all areas of the ministries, faithfully volunteering her time. Her most notable talent within the church is the quality time she spends mentoring the adolescents in the church. Additionally, April provides motivational speaking and education to the local schools in the community. April is a graduate of Leadership Daytona XXXIX. She is also a member of the Junior League of Daytona where she currently serves on the Provisional Development Committee.
In 2018, April created her business, “Platinum Financial Services.” The company serves as an accounting and bookkeeping firm that provides bookkeeping services to start-up, corporate, and non-profit organizations. April’s ultimate life goal is to continually develop and utilize her acquired skills to give back, assist individuals, families, and communities. It is her desire to assist others in developing personally and professionally.
